About the Artist
Billie Dean Shoemate III is a painter based in Paducah, Kentucky. His work explores control, erosion, and psychological tension through layered acrylic surfaces and restrained color. He is a member of the PAPA Gallery and the Yeiser Art Center, both in downtown Paducah, as well as an ambassador for the Art of Elysium and exhibits work internationally through Saatchi Art. His paintings are held in private collections and released in limited selections. In addition to painting, Billie maintains long-running creative projects in writing, music, and audio storytelling, developed over more than two decades of independent work.
Asylum817 is the independent label under which Billie develops his broader creative work, including writing, music, and audio projects, alongside his painting.
